Who Is Poached Egg Woman anyway?
Poached Egg Woman is a wooden carving given to me by my dear friend Mary – perched above a tea pot, she sails through the air, arms outstretched, an intent look on her face, jaunty red cowboy boots on feet. Her dress is the colour of the sky and could have poached eggs on it. Could be fried eggs, too, but hey! I love poached eggs, and as we raise free range chickens, I eat them often.
Poached Egg Woman usually sits by my kitchen window, accompanying me as I am doing dishes. I like to imagine her flying right out of the window and having adventures. Some of these adventures have ended up in small watercolours, and others have yet to be painted. Poached Egg Woman is a close relative of Free Range Chicken – kindred spirits I would say! The moral of this story – wherever you are headed, wear colourful footwear (red cowboy boots, purple sneakers, just for example!) That’s not really a moral, but, oh well!
