Fearless Watercolours – Two locations, two dates

Sun.  September 23 from 10:00 until 4:00 at the Qu’Appelle Valley Centre for the Arts, Fort Qu’Appelle

Sat. October 13 from 10:30 until 4:30 at Freeflow Wellness Studio, Gorlitz

Fearless Watercolours is an introduction to this amazing medium for the curious, the well-intended (bought the supplies, just never had time), and those seeking to invite creativity  and a spirit of play into their lives. Through gently guided exercises, you will learn about different brushes and ways to play with them, create a small colour wheel and learn about colour mixing, explore techniques like glazing, wet-on-wet, and dry brush. We will finish our day by creating a watercolour mandala. My hope is to create an atmosphere of experimentation, play, sharing, absorption, and fun. The magical element in watercolour painting is the water. Water is like spirit – who knows exactly how it is going to flow or where it is headed? Combine water with beautiful pigments and colours, textured or smooth paper and your brush and see what happens! Please bring your own lunch, wear comfortable clothes for painting, movement and walking.
