WILD FLORA – A day spent drawing, painting and experiencing flowers
Red Fox Creative Studio, 1954 Angus Street, Regina
Saturday, June 23 from 10 until 4
“Nobody sees a flower – really – it is so small it takes time – we haven’t time – and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time.” – Georgia O’Keefe
Come, explore yourself and nature through art.
Wild and beautiful flowers live in and around us all the time. Their existence sometimes goes untouched, unseen and uninspired. During this PLAYshop, we will use all of our senses, we share in the beauty of the flowers we love, and ponder the connections we have with them. We will focus on getting to know a particular flower (or group of flowers) really well. Often we are drawn to particular plants because of their beauty or some other quality we can’t quite identify. You will be guided to really see this flower and will express it’s beauty through pencil, pen and watercolour. Expressing what moves us most, about the flower or flowers we have chosen.
All materials will be provided, and flowers, both wild and tame, will inspire our day and bring beauty to our space. You are also welcome to bring your own flowers or plants if you wish.
No previous experience is required.

“One of the reasons I love to paint is that it gives me an opportunity to experience the world around me more deeply and to see things with fresh eyes. June is the blossoming time of beautiful flowers, both tame and wild. So, in some senses, the focus is on getting to know the plant (#befriendingflowers) with the creative act as a means to an end.”
Cost: $99 included supplies. Registration is through Red Fox Creative Studios
